William F. "Bill" Sexton 76, of Portsmouth went to be the Lord on Monday Feb. 18, 2013 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born Nov. 28, 1936 in New Boston, a son of the late Ben and Virgie Jordan Sexton. He was a member of Mabert Road Baptist Church, a retired brakeman from N & W Railroad, a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Korea, a lifetime member of James Dickey Post 23, American Legion, a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge # 48, Scottish Rite, Elhasa Shrine and Wheelersburg Eastern Star # 516. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Holsinger Sexton, 2 sisters, Betty Jo Smith of Mass. and Carol Blevins of New Boston and several neices and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Marvin, Don and Jack Sexton and 2 sisters, Gladys Adkins and Mae Perry. Services will be 12 Noon Friday Feb. 22, 2013 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Rev. Jack Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park with military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American legion. Visitation will be Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with masonic services at 8 PM and one hour prior to services on Friday. Donations may be made to Mabert Rd. Baptist Church or SOMC Hospice Center.
