Wayne B Rister

Wayne B. Rister, 76, of Portsmouth passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at SOMC Hospice Center.  He was born on March 13, 1945 in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Alfred and Hazel (Wilburn) Rister.  Fishing was a big part of Wayne's life.  He also enjoyed collecting and making knives, making dream catchers and doing anything that involved working with his hands.

Wayne is survived by three sons, Timmy Rister and wife Cheryl of Portsmouth, Adam Rister and wife Melissa of Portsmouth, and Neil Williams of Ironton; one daughter, Elly Estle and husband Jessie of Kitts Hill; two brothers, Billy Royster of West Union and Andy Rister and wife Hazel of Maysville, KY; one sister, Connie Grooms and husband Keith of Aberdeen; several grandchildren including a special Great Granddaughter, Cheyenne Estle who resided with him. He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Sue May, Jewel Crabtree, Ann Royster, Mandy Blevins and Betsy Blevins.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 (NOON) Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Donald Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow at Boone Branch Cemetery in Greenup, KY.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 (NOON).  Online condolence may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
