Wanda June Cornwell Smith, 78, of Rosemount died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1931, in New Boston, a daughter of the late Arland and Mary Cornwell. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1949. Wanda was a member of the Christ Community Church in Portsmouth and she was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Smith, Jr., whom she married July 2, 1954 in New Boston. She is also survived by 1 son, Brian Keith Smith of Givens, WV; 2 daughters, Leigh Ann Smith of Columbus and Jill Elaine Adkins of West Portsmouth; 7 grandchildren, Misty Bryant, Benjamin Adkins, Friday Adkins, Felicia Letharp, Tiffany Smith, Brianna Smith, and Kyle Smith; 2 great-grandchildren, Gracie Letharp, and Chloe Bryant; 2 sisters, Faye Glass of Oveda, FL, and Vivian Williams of Twin Valley; and 2 brothers, Gerald Cornwell of Lucasville and Ronald Cornwell of Twin Valley. Services will be 1:00PM, Mon, Jan. 25, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Ralph Clay officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park.
