Wanda M. Day, 67 of West Portsmouth died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at OSU Medical Center. She was born May 4, 1944 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Benny and Opal Scott Howard. She was a former nurses aid and member of Portsmouth Moose Lodge # 762. She is survived by her longtime companion, Russell Weeks; two sons, Rod Day and wife Sandy of Columbus and Michael Day and wife Martha of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Kathy Day of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Lou Estepp of Worthington, KY. and Rosie Taylor of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one brother, John Sparks of Wheelersburg; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, Chester Day and a daughter, Tami Flaig. Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Frank Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
