Wanda Arthur

Wanda Weaver Arthur, 90, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away Wednesday March 8, 2023. She was born October 24, 1932 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Frank & Eva (Moore) Weaver. She was a graduate of Glenwood High School, class of 1951. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Gary Arthur, whom she married in New Boston, Ohio on June 23, 1951. Doug & Wanda enjoyed 57 years of marriage before his passing on October 8, 2008. She was also preceded in death by daughters, infant Patricia Arthur, Deborah Arthur Karshner (1997) and infant grandson Daniel Karshner. Wanda spent 25 years working in retail. She worked at Mack’s Men’s Clothing for 20 years until the store closed and then 5 years at Marting’s until her retirement. Wanda loved socializing with friends she met at Wheelersburg Senior Village, playing cards and working puzzles. She was a faithful member of Cedar St. Church of Christ In Christian Union until becoming unable to attend services. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Janet (Bob) Montgomery, Linda Jennings and Sandy Arthur. Also Surviving are her grandchildren, Jay (Amy) Humble, Brian Humble, Jackie (Chris) Humfleet, Adam Karshner (Jenn Broderick), Lauren (Sean) Winfree, Ashley (Zach) Harr and Sarah (Nick) Lines. Great-grandchildren, Addalyne Humble (Jeff Masterson) and Alexis Humble, Kyle & Keira Humfleet, Allison, Zachary & Emma Jean Lines, Liam, Gwyneth & Lydia Winfree, Adley Karshner, Scarlet Humble and great-great-grandchild Reigen Masterson. The family would like to thank the employees of Best Care who treated “Wonderful Wanda” like she was one of their family and Nancy from ProMedica Hospice. Visitation will be 5-7 pm. Friday March 10, 2023 at D. W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston, Ohio. Also one hour prior to service at the church. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday March 11, 2023 at Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Gary Heimbach Jr. officiating.
