Terry William Mullins, fondly known as "Buddy", 85, of Eden Park, passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born on February 14, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a proud 1957 graduate of Clay High School. Throughout his life, Terry demonstrated unwavering dedication to his work and family.
Terry's career began at the local brickyard, where he contributed until its closure. He later became a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service, a role he embraced for 25 years before retiring. Throughout his professional journey, he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to serving others.
Beyond his career, Terry was a man of many passions. He loved sports, particularly golf, softball, and basketball. His delightful spirit on and off the field endeared him to many. Notably, he was once recruited to play for the Cincinnati Reds, yet his shyness held him back from attending the tryouts, a testament to his humble nature.
Terry was proud of his family and took on the role of a hero within them. He is survived by his sons: Jeff Vicars of Dayton, William B. Mullins of Eden Park, and Barry (Pam) Mullins of Chillicothe. His brothers, Jerry Mullins of Eden Park and Gary Rae Mullins of Eden Park, also carry on his legacy. In addition to his immediate family, Terry is cherished by his granddaughter, Mercedes Dye, and great-grandchildren Porscha Dye and Bentley Dye.
He joins his parents, Albert W. "Sugg" Mullins and Hazel (DeLottelle) Mullins, along with his beloved wife, Kathy J (Ruark) Mullins and his late sisters Geraldine Mullins and Joyce Horner, in eternal rest.
A visitation will be held on December 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Swick Bentley Funeral Home located at 1104 Harrisonville Ave, New Boston. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Darrell "Buck" Musick officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
Terry William Mullins will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His gentle spirit and remarkable kindness have left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends.
