Shirley Jean (Hamm) Prior

Age 76 of Portsmouth passed away on January 8, 2018 at Pristine Senior Living in Portsmouth She was born on February 7, 1941 in Peoria, IL to Jack and Shirley Mae (Sharp) Hamm Shirley was a cook and employee in a nursing home She enjoyed coloring, jigsaw puzzles, bingo, and singing church songs She attended the North Moreland Christian Baptist Church More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by a son, John (Tammy) Prior of Portsmouth; daughters, Tina Ruggles (boyfriend Jim Amato) of Waverly, Angela (Wally) Leedom of New Boston; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Prior who died in 1994; two brothers, Bill and Jim Hamm; sister, Rosella Stoike.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at D.W.
