Samuel E. Briggs

Age 78, of New Boston, died August 4, 2015 at Adena Hospital in Chillicothe He was born December 6, 1936 in New Boston to Preston and Minnie (O’Bryant) Briggs Samuel graduated from Glenwood High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army He was employed at Empire Detroit Steel, Jack Pauley Plumbing, and was a member of the New Boston Eagles. He was also an avid Buckeye fan and loved to fish.

He is survived by one brother, Donald Briggs of Portsmouth; one sister, Ruth Compton of McDermott; three special step-daughters, Carol Searfoss of Detroit, MI, Holly Davis of Portsmouth, and Rebecca Taylor of New Boston He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, John, and Bill; one sister, Esther Moore; and by his partner and best friend, Tina Dobrzynski.
