Ryan James Howard

Ryan James Howard, age 50, of Sarasota, Florida born November 16, 1972, in Portsmouth to Richard and Paula (Anderson) Howard.  Ryan a.k.a. “Rooster” passed away under Hospice Care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida on July 30, 2023.  Ryan was a carpenter and loved to travel.

Ryan was preceded in death by his mother Paula Jean Howard; his sister, Rajeana Lynn Howard; brothers, Rocky Howard and Rory Howard; nephews, Joshua D. Howard and Rory Michael Howard.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Rebecca his forever love; two daughters, Kelsey Howard of Portsmouth and April Howard of Portsmouth; one granddaughter, Kaylee; and two grandsons, Gage and Lucas; his father, Richard Howard and stepmother, Sherry Howard of South Carolina; brother, Ron and Vicky Howard of South Carolina; brother, Richard Howard of South Carolina; sister, Raynella Bailey of Portsmouth; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was such a good soul and always made you laugh no matter how bad you were feeling.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Mark Baer officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
