Robert Randall Davis (Russ)

Robert Randall "Russ" Davis 78 of New Boston passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Best Care Nursing and Rehab in Wheelersburg.  He was born on August 5, 1942 to the late Russell and Goldie (Parker) Davis in Grays Branch, KY.  Russ served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired as a brakeman from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad.  He was an avid sports fan including The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds, he loved spending his weekends watching the Buckeyes with his family.  He also loved watching his grandchildren play ball.  Friends referred to him as "Railroad Davis".

Russ is survived by his wife Libby Angeline Zeleles Davis; one son, Chris Davis and wife Michelle of New Boston; two daughters, Cindy Brown and husband Kelly of Portsmouth and Julie Preston and husband Don of Minford; seven grandchildren,  Jennifer Rider, Matt Brown, Steven Russell, Kyle Davis, Chase Preston, Chandler Preston and Shellby Vulgamore; and seven great grandchildren.  In addition to his parent's he was preceded in death by a brother, John Davis and a sister, Lorraine Lytten.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  and Monday, June 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 (Noon) at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston.  A celebration of life will be held at noon on Monday at the funeral home with Steve Hamilton officiating. All attendees of the visitation and service are asked to wear Ohio State Attire.  Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the James Irwin Post # 622 of the  American Legion of Minford.    Online condolences may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
