Robert Humble

Robert H. Humble, 75, of Wheelersburg died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1934 in Winchester, KY., a son of the late Mary Bess Russell Humble. He was a welder at the former Detroit Steel Corp.,was formerly an instructor at Shawnee State University, was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea, was a member of Mabert Road Christian Baptist Church and loved golfing and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Howard Humble; two sons, David Humble of Columbus and Bill Broughton of Beaumont, TX.; two daughters, Barbara Humble and Beverly Smiley both of Las Vegas, NV; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom Humble. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Rev. Jack Williams officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park with military rites by Minford Post 622, American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to8 PM and 12 to 1 PM Mon.at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
