Richard Culver

Richard C. Culver, 79, of New Boston died Mon. May 17, 2010 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born Dec. 24, 1930 in New Boston, a son of the late Clarence and Grace Glenn Culver. He was a U.S. Army veteran, attended Brush Creek Baptist Church and was formerly employeed by the Village of New Boston and Taylor Lumber Co. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Eldridge Culver whom he married on Aug. 15, 1974; three sons, Tony Culver of West Portsmouth, Tim Poole of New Boston and Mike Poole of Portsmouth; three daughters, Lois King of Sciotoville, Mona Diller of Minford and Mary Ann Cook of Waverly; 1 sister, Annette, 3 brothers, Bill, Henry and Ari and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy and a grandson, Tom King. Services will be 1:00 PM Thurs., May 20, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Albert Breech officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion.
