Phyllis Hewitt
Age 83, formerly of New Boston went to be with the Lord February 18, 2018 in Cincinnati She was born April 10, 1934 in Portsmouth to Charles and Verlia Mae (Hall) Clevenger Phyllis was a long time member of New Boston Nazarene and Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union where she played the organ She was a longtime hairdresser, and loved quilting, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Hewitt (Mary Beth) of Cincinnati, John Hewitt (Gwen) of Berne, IN; one brother, Jack (Barbara) Clevenger of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Dorothy Tipton of Phoenix AZ, Kay Patton (Doug) of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Zea (Diego) of Cincinnati, Andrew Hewitt (Lillie) of Charleston, SC; Courtney Givens (Austin) of South Korea, Abbey Morgan (Zach) of Berne, IN; great-grandchildren, Luca and Chloe Zea In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; five brothers and sisters, Edith Hatton, Ina Whitley, Joe Clevenger, Charles Clevenger, and Paul Clevenger.
Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’s name to Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union or Hospice of Southwest Ohio in Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at D.W.SWICK NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace Friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Online condolences may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
