Perry Vernon Smith Sr.

Perry Vernon Smith Sr. of Portsmouth passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his home.  He was born May 22, 1939 to the late Cecil and Marie (Goble) Smith.  Perry retired as a Sanitation worker in the city of Portsmouth.  He was a big sports fan especially Ohio State football, the Bengals and Cincinnati Reds.  Perry loved to fish and teach his children to fish and take walks with his companion and best friend, Brownie.  He loved to have family gatherings and be around family especially cook outs.

Perry is survived by one son, Perry Smith Jr. and wife Donna of Lucasville; two daughters, Janey Frazier and husband Randy of Rosemount, Sheila Winn and husband Steve of Minford; a son-in-law, Donald Osborne; two brothers, Kenny Tackett and Danny Smith; one sister, Betty Jo Smith; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Louise (Spencer) Smith; a daughter, Oma Osborne; and a sister, Mary Spencer.

Friends may call at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston Monday, June 20, 2022 from 12:00 (noon) until 1:00 p.m. a private burial will be held at a later date at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott.
