Patricia Jane Horton - Bauereiss

Patricia Jane Horton – Bauereiss , 82, of Portsmouth passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, at her home.  She was born in Portsmouth on September 26, 1940, to the late Ralph and Ruth (Litteral) Leslie.  Patricia was a 1958 graduate of Portsmouth East High School.  She was a long-time member of the Church of God.  She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers, but her true passion was caring for others.  She was a hospice volunteer for many years.

Patricia is survived by her husband, John Bauereiss; two sons, Michael Horton and wife Theresa of Minford, and Jerry Horton and wife Pamela of McDermott; two stepdaughters, Christine Caudill of Hamilton, and Corrine Harmon and husband Bob of Hamilton; a brother, Paul Leslie and wife Eunice of Willis, MI; two sisters, Cathy Lowe of Columbus, and Sharon Piatt of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Michael Horton; and a sister, Janet Brown.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday October 7, 2022, at D. W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Dean Thompson officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Friday.  Online condolences may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
