Norman Louis Meyers

Norman Louis Meyers, 77 of Portsmouth died July 26, 2014. He was born April 25, 1937 a son of the late Walter and Dorothy Meyers who raised him and Mamie Kocher. He was a former U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Russell D. Williams American Legion Post 471, worked as a carpenter and attended Unity Fellowship Church in New Boston. He is survived by 5 daughters, Norma Robinson, Betty Taylor, Lisa McGinnis, Dorothy Fletcher and Judie Beasley; 2 sons, Norman Meyers Jr. and Wayne Fletcher; 3 sisters, Betty Bailey, Emma Patrick and Nora Robinson; 2 brothers, Claire Hankins and Martin Kocher; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Dale and Richard Fletcher and a sister, Barbara Hamp. Graveside services will be 12 Noon Friday Aug. 1, 2014 at KY Veterans Cemetery with Pastors Jack Howard and Richard Stiles officiating. Military honors will be provided by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 10 to 11 AM at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON.
