Age 91 of Eden Park, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2016 He was born on March 18, 1925 in Wakefield, OH to Nelson and Ruth (Days) Bellar Nelson served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the Mississippi Biloxi in Japan After the war, he returned home and spent his professional life working for NW Railroad as a Signal Maintainer and Welder In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, and fishing He was a very active member of the Masonic Lodge, Lucasville Lodge #465 as well as the American Legion, Lucasville Post #363 where he was honored to participate in providing military rites at funerals for local veterans Nelson was a very faithful member of the Rubyville Community Church.

He is survived by his sister, Katherine Lauderback of Minford; daughter-in-law Rosemary Bellar of Wheelersburg; grandson, Tracy (Pam) Bellar of Wheelersburg; granddaughters, Michele Yeley of Wheelersburg, Melissa (Troy) Lenhart of Englewood; great-grandsons, Nicholas Bellar of Wheelersburg, Tanner Lenhart of Englewood; Bethanie Yeley of Hilliard, Brooklyn Yeley currently serving in Afghanistan, Darcy Bellar of Wheelersburg, Malia Lenhart of Englewood; close friends, Roy Deemer, Jeff Kight, and Jimmy Cooper In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Milta Barnett Bellar; son, Gary Bellar; great-granddaughter, Hannah Lenhart; brothers, Harold and Earl Bellar; sisters, Juanita Spence, Virginia Stevenson; sister-in-law, Annie Earls.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Rubyville Community Church with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Pastor Brian Baer officiating Friends may call 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday at D.W.SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston and one hour prior to the service at the church A Masonic service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home Interment will follow the funeral service at Salt Creek Cemetery in Lucasville with military rites provided by Lucasville American Legion Post 363 Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com
