Age 84, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Ocala, FL She was born September 1, 1933 in Scioto County to the late Rev. Paul and Vera Elizabeth Turner In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Harold Sexton, and a brother, William Jack Turner.
Naomi was raised in the Missionary Baptist faith where her father was a minister She was a 1951 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and also attended the former Mercy Hospital School of Nursing She began working as a teenager at the Ideal Milk Company where she would meet her future husband.
She volunteered for many years for Minford Ambulance Squad #3.
Naomi relocated to Silver Springs, FL where she worked at Dayco and was the manager of a flower shop She was a member of Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church in Silver Springs, FL.
She is survived by three sons, Barry (Nancy) Sexton of Minford, Jeff (Patricia) Sexton of Silver Springs, FL, and Hal (Cindy) Sexton of Abilene, TX; sisters, Sara (Bob) Jones of Chillicothe, Janet Williams of Wheelersburg, and Edith Cole of Washington; adopted son, Joe Mather; nine grandchildren, Robert (Jenny) Ledford, Adrienne (Chris) Cottrill, Tracy (Jeremy) Hatfield, Nathan Sexton, Zachery (Nicola) Sexton, Andy (Carey) Sexton, Sierra Sexton (Jason), Jessica Sexton, and Jenifer Sexton; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive Naomi will be laid to rest in the waters off Key West at a later date Arrangements are under the direction of Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home of Ocala, FL.
