Mildred Reed, 81, of Portsmouth died Tuesday April 8, 2014 at Hill View Retirement Center. She was born March 31, 1933, a daughter of the late Garland and Barbara Ferrell Chafin. She was a former nursing assistant at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Survivors include her sons, Charles Reed of McDermott and Kenneth Reed of West Union, a brother, James Chafin of Williamson, W. VA. and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reed and a son, Robert Reed Private interment will be held at Memorial Burial Park with Pastor Mike Persell officiating.
