Age 89 of Columbus, formerly of Sciotoville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2016 in Columbus. A born-again Christian, she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. Townsend Sr. and Ester Pauley Rodgers and was born on December 30, 1926 in Nellis, WV.  Mildred loved to camp on the Ohio River, was an avid reader especially of the Bible She worked for twenty-six years for the Portsmouth City Schools, retiring in 1982 as Cafeteria Manager in Portsmouth East High School More than anything she loved to spend time with her family.

Mildred is survived by two sons, John (Donna) Tucker of Wheelersburg and Roger Tucker of Scottsburg, IN; two daughters, Judith Saunders and Donna (Bill) Steele, both of Grove City; one sister, June Cook of New Castle, IN; 13 grandchildren, Jay S. Tucker, Lisa L. Tucker, Natalie D. Turner, Debbie L. Tucker, Tammy Lytten, Shane A. Manning, Terri L. Manning, Angela R. Butler, Robin K. Mullins, Jenny J. Steele, Billy E. Steele Jr., Crystal Musser, and Richard Musser III; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Musser on March 15, 1984; a son, Richard Musser, Jr.; a brother, Tom Townsend, Jr.; and a half-sister, Jewell Dickens.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastors Bill Steele and Charles Monroe officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
