Mildred King, 93, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away Sunday March 3, 2024 at Minford Retirement Center. She was born July 10, 1930 in Muncie, Indiana, a daughter of the late Grady Underwood and Hassie Pearl Kirby Underwood.
She was a former member of Portsmouth Baptist Church and the Rivers of Joy Baptist Church in Minford, Ohio which her late husband, Dr. Quentin King established these two churches and pastored both of them. Dr. King went to heaven March 26, 2004. They pastored churches for over 50 years. Before his death, they were married for 56 years.
She was a member of Waits Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She is survived by one son, Daniel King and wife Jo Ann of Ft. Worth, Texas; a foster son, Eddie Kizer of Springboro, Ohio; one grandson, Tim King of Hurst, Texas; one brother Jack Underwood and wife Thadra of McMinnville, TN.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Quentin King in 2004, a grandson, Chris King in 2008 and a sister, Billie Ruth Taylor in 1999.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 6, 2024 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Committal Services to follow at 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Abby Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park with Rev. Paul King and Rev. Al Owens officiating.
