Michael Lee Phelps

Michael Lee Phelps, 38, born on May 7, 1986, in Kermit, Texas, went to be with the Lord tragically on December 14, 2024, in Portsmouth. He was deeply loved by many friends and family throughout his life.

Michael's upbringing was marked by his kindness and warmth, qualities that resonated with all who knew him. He was educated at the STAR Workshop in Portsmouth, where he formed cherished friendships that enriched his life. His connections at the STAR Workshop were particularly meaningful, reflecting his tremendous capacity for compassion and care for others.

He is survived by numerous friends and family who held him dear in their hearts. Among those who mourn his passing are his friends at STAR, the special members of the Diaz and Walters families, who shared many joyful moments with him.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Joseph Phelps, and his mother, Brenda Joyce Smith. 

A visitation in honor of Michael will take place on December 23, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM at Swick Bentley Funeral Home, located at 1104 Harrisonville Ave, New Boston, Ohio, 45662.

Michael Lee Phelps will be remembered for his loving spirit, his bright smile, and the indelible mark he left on the lives of his friends and family. His memory will continue to live on in their hearts.
