Michael Wayne Knauff, 68, of Portsmouth passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 14, 1955, a son of the late William and Ruth (Trimble) Knauff. Mike was a devoted employee of the Scioto County Maintenance Department for many years and former logger. He loved life, laughed often and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on vehicles, and most of all, being with his family. Mike is survived in death by his loving wife Deborah (Schuler) Knauff, 5 children; Christy (James) Shafer, Michael (Jessie) Knauff Jr., Valerie (Keith) Saltsman, Jeff (Stacy) Horner, and Nikki (Doug) Bays. 11 grandchildren, Morgan (Darin), Logan, Devin, Haley, Jana, Laney, Dominic, Austin, Alex, Alyssa, and Alexis. 4 great-grandchildren, Angie, Allie, Grayson, and Elliott. Three brothers, Barry (Terrie) Knauff of Cedar Point, NC, Tim (Lisa) Knauff of West Portsmouth, and Brent (Fluff) Knauff of Chillicothe, and many nieces and nephews who loved him deeply. Services for Mike will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Friends may call beginning at 12 pm with funeral services performed by Gary Newman at 1:00 pm.
