Mary Ellen Arnett

Mary Ellen (Thomas) Arnett, 85, of Eden Park, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.  She was born April 10, 1938 in Grayson, Kentucky to the late Charley and Julia (Felty) Thomas.  Mary was a member of First Christian Holiness Church in New Boston.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved people and would do anything she could to help someone in need.  Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mary is survived by her husband of 18 years, John Arnett; two sons, David L. Bentley Sr. and wife Dorothy of Eden Park and Lorenzo Bentley Jr. and wife Amanda of Minford; a stepson, Russell Arnett and wife Shirley of Flatwoods, KY; brothers, George Thomas of Pennsylvania, Elwood Thomas and wife Rita of Florida, and Glen Thomas and wife Jenny of Grayson; sisters, Bessie Swint of Florida, Maxine Brown of South Shore, Ky; Elizabeth Hamilton and husband Ernie of Wheelersburg, Thelma Brown and husband Mike of West Portsmouth, Sharlene Wessell and husband Roy of Rosemount; grandchildren, David Lee Bentley Jr and wife Emily of Mansfield, Rachel Bentley of Minford, Michael Bentley and fiancé Laiken of Albany, Elijah Bentley of Minford and Andrew Bentley of Minford; eight great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents Mary was also preceded in death by her first husband, Renzo Bentley; a son, Jeffrey Dee Bentley; brothers, Bill Thomas and John Thomas; sisters, Nellie Sexton an Margaret Arnett; and a granddaughter, Courtney Stairs.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday November 17, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Bryan Davis officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
