Marvin Rice

Marvin Rice, 90, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday June 3, 2023 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born February 10, 1933 in Johnson County, KY, a son of the late John and Gems (Blanton) Rice. He was a retired Technical Librarian from the former Atomic Energy Plant. He enjoyed spending time outside working in the yard and watching people as they go by. He would sit in his garage during a storm just watching it rain. He also loved spending time with his family. Marvin is survived by a daughter, Cindy Hamm and husband Bill of Wheelersburg and a grandson, Will Hamm of Wheelersburg. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Hall) Rice; three sisters, Jean Edmisten, Billie Harrison and Faye Crum. Funeral Services will be 12 Noon Thursday June 8, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Brent Saxton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
