Age 81 of Lucasville, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2018 He was born March 8, 1937, a son of the late Alfred and Amy Damron Eldridge A Lucasville resident, Marion was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired laborer from Local 83 where he was Union high man His friends knew him as “Squirrel.”  In his earlier years he trimmed trees and taught many of the boys the art of tree-trimming Marion loved bowling, working around his home, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen (Craig) Eldridge; 7 children, Dianna Anderson, Melvin Anderson, III, Gail Lands, Iris Anderson, Connie Anderson, Carey Anderson, Sr., and Denise Henson In addition, Marion is the proud Papaw of 35 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and 52 great-great-grandchildren Also surviving are sister, Nancy Rawlins; brothers, Roger and Billy Eldridge; Regina Frost, who he considered as a daughter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins Many children came through the doors as strangers and left to always be family In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Ricky and Barry Anderson; daughters, Cora “Sissy” Roberts, Velda Eggers, and Sherriall Kuhn; sister, Martha Toland; grandson, Larry Wellman, Jr.; and great-grandsons, Dillon Osborne and A’thaniel Hammond.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston Interment will follow at Batterson Cemetery Friends may call from 11 – 1:00 prior to the service Online condolences may be shared at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
