Mabel Simpson, 81, of Milldale Rd., Portsmouth, died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born February 26, 1927 in Portsmouth a daughter of the late Frank Harris and Flora Easter Harris. Mabel is survived by one son, Algon L. Simpson and wife Julie of Portsmouth; one daughter, Linda Harris and husband Larry of Columbus; six grandchildren, Amy Simpson, Alisa Varnado, Jason Harris, Megan Hicks, Jared Simpson, Cody Simpson and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Jeremy Walsh, Minister officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 5 to 8 PM and Wednesday 10 to 11 AM at D.W. Swick in New Boston. The family requests donations be made to SOMC Hospice Center. Online condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
