Louise Jennings Imes, 83, of New Boston, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at Bristol Village in Waverly. She was born August 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Floyd and Sally Arnold. The family would like others to remember their mother and grandmother as they remember her. She was always eager to share her fun-spirited nature and great sense of humor with others. She had great affection for the children of New Boston and devoted countless hours to making them feel cherished and special. She enjoyed politics, crocheting, and crafts. She also loved to beautify the neighborhood by planting flowers throughout New Boston and in her own yard on Gallia Street. The family appreciated the special friendship she maintained throughout her years with Tom and Cathy Seeley and the love and companionship they shared. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bristol Village for the love, care, and nurturing they gave to her in her final years. Louise was a former member of the Kiwanis, served as President of the Scioto County Democrat Women's Club and was chosen as the Democrat Woman of the Year; she also served as a New Boston Village Council Member and was a volunteer reader at Stanton Elementary School. She was a licensed cosmetologist and was the owner/operator of Jennings Beauty Salon in New Boston. Louise is survived by four daughters, Christine Jennings of Sarasota, FL, Wanda Scurlock (Joe) of Wheelersburg, Judy Delaney Beiter (Ed) of Jackson, Cherie Jennings Crabtree (Alan) of Piketon; a sister, Irene Faber of Rochester, NY; a brother, Floyd Arnold of Wheelersburg; two grandchildren, Angie Stone (Rob) of Portsmouth, Jay Delaney (Erin) of St. Petersburg, FL; two step-grandchildren, Kayla and Katie Crabtree both of Lucasville; and a great-grandson, Garrett Stone. Louise was also preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her four daughters, Reverend Kenneth F. Jennings, who died on Aug. 5, 1979; her second husband, Russel Imes, who died on Jan. 16, 1987; three sisters, Hazel Ruby, Gertrude Rister, and Opal Bender; two brothers, Dewey Newsome, and Dan Arnold. The family extends their sincere thank you to all of those who will be paying respect to their Dear Mother's life. Services will be 2 pm Friday, April 13, 2012, at D.W.
