Linda Sue (Payton) Brown

Age 69 of New Boston went to be with the Lord August 9, 2016 at SOMC in Portsmouth.  She was born May 6, 1947 in Portsmouth to James and Kathlene (Copeland) Payton.  Linda was a 1966 graduate of Glenwood High School, attended the Church of God Prophecy in New Boston, and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by a son, Eric Brown (April) of New Boston; a daughter, Beth (Brown) Boggs of New Boston; two grandchildren, Payton and Hunter Brown; one brother, Roger Payton of Mineral, VA; one sister, Carol Hurst (James) of Cincinnati; two sisters-in-law, Marcella Brown and Barbara Stipek; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a sister, Betty Thompson; and a brother, David Payton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Church of God Prophecy in New Boston with Pastors Howard Pruitt and Ronnie Blevins officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at D.W.
