Leonard "Red" Johnson, 80, of Wheelersburg died Sat., Aug. 21, 2010 at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Perry, Maine, a son of the late Arthur and Ella Pottle Johnson. He worked at Craig's Body Shop in New Boston, operated Splash & Go Car wash in New Boston,was a U.S. Navy veteran, was a member of James Dickey Post 23, American Legion and attended Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jean Newcomer Johnson of Wheelersburg; a son, Joseph V. Johnson and wife Carolyn of Lucasville; five daughters, Diane Sharrer of Akron, Barbara Craig of Wheelersburg, Brenda Tomlin and husband Paul of Wheelersburg, Lori Strang and husband Roger of Wheelersburg and Beverly Kapitanovich and husband Mike of Hartville, OH.; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Johnson, son-in-law, Jerry, grandson, Danny and great grandson, Steve. Memorial services will be 4 PM Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Blevins officiating. Arrangements being handled by D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston.
