Lena M Sanders

Lena M. Sanders, 87, of Grove City formerly of Eden Park, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2022.  She was born August 27, 1935 to the late Walter and Trilby (Burchett) Brigner in Portsmouth.  Lena was a long time member of Cedar Street Church before moving to Grove City and becoming very active in Grove City Church of the Nazarene where she participating in the widows group and later she attended First Baptist Church in Grove City enjoying various activities with the senior group in the church.  Lena loved her family dearly, she always enjoyed family get togethers, cooking food for the family to enjoy and going on family trips.  After moving to Grove City Lena was very active with her friends in The Evans Senior Center where she was on the WII Bowling Team and played bingo.  Lena loved spending time with her friends at Lamplighter Senior Village.

Lena is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Adkins and husband David of Ft. Meyers Florida and Kathy Whitaker of Grove City; one sister, Beulah Maple and husband Donald of Portsmouth; a brother, Paul Brigner of Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Alisha Harper and husband Dan, Leah Barlow and husband Kyle, David Adkins and wife Ashley, Benjamin Whitaker and wife Amanda, Aaron Whitaker and wife Stephanie, Hannah Whitaker and Noah Whitaker; twelve great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sanders; an infant son; two sisters, Naomi Malone and Darlene Shoemaker; and two brothers, Carl Brigner and David Brigner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 27, 2022 at Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union with pastors Gary Heimbach and Brad Angus officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of D.W.
