Larry Lee Lowder

Larry Lee Lowder, 70, born on June 20, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away on April 6, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Larry had a passion for the great outdoors. He attended Glenwood High School in New Boston.

Throughout his life, Larry was known for his love of dirt track racing, hunting, and fishing, as well as his enthusiasm for attending auctions. His zest for life and adventure left an indelible mark on those who knew him, fostering countless cherished memories.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Carley Riley; a daughter, Michelle Hoover and her husband Bill of Piketon; stepsons, Allen Rickey of Pennsylvania and Tyghe Rickey of Georgia; and stepdaughter Dana Rickey of Kentucky. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Debbie Turner and her husband George of Wheelersburg, Marvella Henry and her husband Jerod of Wheelersburg, and Sandi Lang of Sciotoville. His legacy continues through his two grandchildren, Courtney Nelson and Candace Hoover; eight great-grandchildren: Amber, Julian, Chaselin, Adrian, Rose, Ivy, Aiden, and Ethan; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ruger, and Maylee; as well as four step-great-grandchildren. Additionally, Larry will be missed by several nieces and nephews whose lives he enriched with his presence.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Eugene "Gene" and Cora (Potter) Lowder; a son, Larry Chris Lowder; brothers Faris Lowder, James Lowder, and Donald Lowder; sister Rhonda Wilson; and nephew Virgil Lowder. Each of these individuals held a special place in Larry's heart, and their memories will forever remain a part of his story.

Larry's impact on his family and friends will be honored during visitation on April 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM, both taking place at the SWICK BENTLEY FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Rick Arthur officiating.
