Kurtis Matthew Cassady

Kurtis Matthew Cassady, 27, of Wheelersburg, Ohio died Monday Dec. 29, 2014 at southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 27, 1987 in Portsmouth, OH. the son of Jerry and Renee Cassady Howard. He was a 2006 graduate of Northwest High School and the Scioto County Joint Vocational School where he played Football, ran track and developed a love for welding. Kurtis was loved by many for that big smile and the friendship that he shared with everyone. Kurtis was always there to listen or lend a hand to someone. He had such a big heart. As your mother, you taught me so much about life, compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love and to never give up. I will forever miss you baby. Everyday I will remember the good times, the laughs and the memories. Rest in Pease my son. I love you baby. Kurtis fly high. You are an Angel

He is survived by parents; two brothers, Kyle Cassady of Minford, Ohio and Kraig (Charity) Cassady of Wheelersburg; grandmothers, Carol Cassady of Minford, Ohio and Wanda Cassady of Chillicothe, Ohio. His little friends, two nephews Broc and Corbin Cassady of Wheelersburg; one niece, Kara Young of Berea, Kentucky; special uncles and aunts, Wayne and Loretta Alley of Lucasville, Tim and Kris Cassady of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, David Cassady of Cary, North Carolina; special cousins, Joe and Michelle Alley of Lucasville, Ohio, Brian, Travis and Hailie Cassady of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Duke and Gayle Alley of Lucasville, Ohio and several more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Cassady and grandfather, Garfield Cassady.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday Jan. 5, 2014 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Burial will be at Jacobs cemetery.
