Joseph W. Mcgraw

Age 66, of New Boston, went to be with the Lord at SOMC Hospice, December 1, 2017 He was born December 22, 1950 in New Boston to Lewis and Christina (Scowden) McGraw A 1968 graduate of Clay High School and then Ohio University where he received a degree in accounting, he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Joe was an entrepreneur at heart and over his working career created businesses in the cable and real estate industries As an avid supporter of the local economy, he helped create hundreds of jobs and served on numerous task forces to promote economic development in his community Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his cabin, playing golf, travelling, and reading He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather (Poppy), brother, and uncle

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary (Melvin); children, Samantha (Steve) Hamilton, Charles McGraw, Chris (Lindsey) McGraw He will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Mychael, Kiersten, Ali, Daisy, Hunter, and Paige; siblings, Peggy Holley, Danny (Cindy) McGraw, Penny (Vess) Jordan, Cheryl Jelks, Marta (Don) McGraw-Shore, Lisa Sharma, Karla Munoz, Denise McGraw, Lewis (Travis) McGraw Jr.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Eden Park with Pastor Kenny Estep officiating Interment will follow in Memorial Burial Park with military honors provided by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23 Friends may call Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at D.W.
