Age 71 of Wheelersburg, passed away on October 10, 2015 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born in Jackson County, OH on June 29, 1944 to Edward and Eliza Jane (Kelly) Canter
He is survived by his wife, Bettye Canter; three daughters, Rhonda Boggs, Melissa Canter, Tonya Cole; two stepchildren, Louis Parson and Chrissy Sheppard; five brothers, Sammy Canter, Danny Canter, Leroy Canter, Ronald Canter, Steve Canter; five sisters, Diana Canter, Betty Dodridge, Elizabeth Canter, Carolyn Rapp, Christine lucas; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen King; three brothers, Charlie Canter, Eddie Canter, and Paul Nance; two sisters, Effie David, Wanda McGinnis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at D.W. Swick-Nelson Funeral Home in New Boston with interment to follow at Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
