James O. Tipton, 85 of Eden Park passed away Saturday Feb. 7, 2015 at his residence after a long illness. He was born March 4, 1929 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Elken and Grace Moore Tipton. He was retired from the New Boston State Liquor Store with 33 years service.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Easter and husband Steven of Eden Park and Teri Slack and husband Chip of Columbus; 2 grandchildren, Amanda(Terry)Waldron and Sarah Sexton and a great-grandchild, Payton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Tipton on July 20, 2014 whom he would have been married to for 55 years on the day of his funeral; a step-son, David Brun; 3 brothers, Roy, Homer and Clifford Tipton and 3 sisters, Lillian Pride, Madelyn Freeman and Nellie Romine.
Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Sam Salyer officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday 5 to 8 PM and Thursday 12 noon to 1 PM at the funeral home.
