James C. Smith

James C. Smith, 75, of Sciotoville died Wed. May 18, 2011 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1935 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Kenneth and Ethel Hankins Smith. He was a former tugboat seaman and U.S. Army veteran. Jim is survived by his special friend, Wilma Skaggs of Sciotoville; a son, Kenneth Smith of Baltimore, MD.; a daughter, Barbara Carmichael of Daytona Beach, Fla.; 3 brothers, William (Margaret) Smith of Sunbury, Leonard (Elois) Smith of Wheelersburg and Ralph (Katie) Smith of Clyde.He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Smith and a daughter, Joann Smith. Services will be 11 AM Sat. May 21, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Michael Skaggs officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM and Saturday 10 to 11 AM at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
