James Edgar Skaggs

James Edgar "Les" Skaggs, 71, of Lucasville passed away Sunday March 6, 2022 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born May 27, 1950 in Portsmouth, a son of the late James M. Skaggs and Maggie (Wells) Vicars. He was a former Sanitation Worker, loved attending church and woodworking. Les is survived by 5 sisters, Thelma Crabtree of Rosemount, Linda Foster of Washington Courthouse, Kathy Hamilton of Wheelersburg, Vicki Eldridge of Lucasville and Dee Rickard and husband Gary of Point Pleasant, WV; his former wife, Jewell Skaggs; grandchild, Joey Tipton; stepsons, Walt (JoAnn) Lester of Marysville, Dwayne ( Sherry) Lester of Thurston and David (Tess) Lester of Beaver, 5 step- grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather who raised him, Bill Vicars, a daughter, April Dawn Tipton; 2 brothers, Raymond and Jerry Skaggs, a sister, Terry Webb, 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Jacob. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 9, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston.
