James F. Lodwick, 85, of Portsmouth was escorted by Angels into the presence of God surrounded by family at SOMC Hospice Center on Saturday afternoon. He will be Greatly missed but we have peace in knowing we will see him again some day when we are re-united in Heaven. He was born April 7, 1927 in New Boston to the late Paul and Blanche McManus Lodwick. Jim was a Soft Spoken, Kind and Humble Man. A Christian that used the Lord as guidence through-out his life. He was a Navy veteran, 51 year member of the Wheelersburg Western Sun # 91, Masonic Lodge, a former employee of Empire Detroit Steel and a local Realtor. Jim loved fishing, the beauty of nature and his Family Dearly. He is survived by his wife, Janet Lodwick; 3 daughters, Lana (Richard) Lowe of Columbus, Lisa (Dan) Schrock of Tennesee and Sherry (Mark) Darby of Minford; 2 sons, James Gregory (Diane) Lodwick of Portsmouth and Dean (Vonnie) Lodwick of Minford; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin and 2 brothers, David and Paul Lodwick. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Peter Michaels officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military graveside honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Wednesday 5 to 8 PM and Thursday 12 to 1 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston. Masonic Services will be at 7:30 PM on Wednesday. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome
