James "Hank" Franklin Buffington

James "Hank" Franklin Buffington, 71, of Clarktown, died, Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1940, in Wellston, Oh, a son of the late Edward and Minnie Lambert Buffington. Hank was a retired Lieutenant from Southern Ohio Correctional Facility and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Jeannette Broyles Buffington whom he married June 20, 1961 in Henderson, NV; one son, James F. Buffington Jr. (Melissa) of Clarktown; two daughters, Brenda Sue Buffington of New Boston, Cheryl Sue Shover of Ky; two brothers, Harley Buffington of Sciotoville, William Buffington of TX; one sister, Garnet Boyer of McArthur; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special friend, Brenda Fiffe. Hank was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Ann Buffington; a brother, Harry Buffington; and a sister Ginni Buffington. Services will be 3:00 pm, Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1205 Bierly Rd. Portsmouth, Oh 45662, with Bishop Robert Cox officiating.
