Jack E. Pellegrinon, 69, of Portsmouth died Thursday Dec. 4, 2014 at James Cancer Center in Columbus after a brief illness. He was born May 28, 1945 in Portsmouth a son of the late Charles and Juanita Combs Pellegrinon. Jack attended Evangelical United Church of Christ and was a teacher for 36 years with the Wheelersburg School System where he retired in 2003. He was a member of The Scioto County Retired Teachers Association, was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he earned his Bachelor's in Education and was a graduate of Xavier University where he earned his Master's in Education. He is survived by his wife Mary Zoellner Pellegrinon whom he married on December 20, 1969 in Portsmouth; one daughter, Emily Pellegrinon of Portsmouth; his special cat, Kate; two brothers, James Pellegrinon and his partner Tadhg O'Connor of New York, NY. and Robert Pellegrinon of New Boston; his mother-in-law, Helen Zoellner of Portsmouth and his dear friends James and Janet Gerard. Private services will be at the convenience of the family with interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 6 PM Sunday Dec. 7, 2014 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON.
