Age 93 of Lucasville passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born September 27, 1922 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Benjamin and Bertha Sartin Goodman. He was a WW ll Army Veteran, attended First Christian Holiness Church in New Boston, loved to go for walks, and was a big fan of the Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes. He retired after 23 years working in the Sanitation Dept. for the City of Portsmouth.
Ithel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emma Newman Goodman who he married on September 1, 1958 in New Boston; four sons, Charles (Rebecca) Goodman of Wheelersburg, William Goodman of Lucasville, Timothy (Brenda) Goodman of Portsmouth and Paul Goodman of Clarksburg, WV.; four daughters, Sheryl (Chris) Horner of Arizona, Crystal (Tony) Blanton of New Breman, Bertha Goodman of Lucasville, and Millisa Goodman of Ft. Lorami, OH; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 p.m Wednesday Feb. 3, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Lorenzo Bentley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Wednesday 12 to 1 p.m at the funeral home.
