Hester McKenzie Harden Holt, 80, of Perrysburg, OH. formerly of Franklin Furnace died Sun. April 5, 2009 in Perrysburg following a lengthy illness. Hester was born June 23, 1928 in Catettsburg, KY., to the late Charlie and Alta McKenzie. She lived in Perrysburg with her son, Johnny Barnett for the past 11 years of her life and was a favored member of the local community. She enjoyed working with her flower garden, going to yard sales in her little golf cart and visiting with the neighbors. Before moving to Perrysburg, she lived in the Franklin Furnace area and worked for many of the local business people as a housekeeper. She was well known for her diligence and reputation of a job well done. Hester was a woman who would do anything for anybody she could. She was well respected and loved by her family and friends alike. She will be sadly missed by all. Hester leaves four living children; Patricia Ann Smith, Johnny Barnett (Brenda), Jerry Barnett (Dorothy), and Frankie Barnett (Dawn) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Harden stepchildren; Mary Pollard, Zonie Harden, Martha Rucker, Gladys, Barbara Brown, Ike Harden, Don Harden and Arthur Harden. She was also preceded in death by children, Darrell "Butch" Huggins, Paul Harden, and Raymond Harden and one sister, Helen Perkins. Visitation will be Tuesday 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday 11 AM to 1 PM at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Graveside services will be conducted by the family following the Wednesday visitation at Junior Furnace cemetery in Franklin Furnace.
