Hester McKenzie Harden Holt, 80, of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of Franklin Furnace, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Perrysburg, following a lengthy illness. Hester was born in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, on June 23, 1928, to her late parents, Charlie and Alta McKenzie. She lived in Perrysburg with her son Johnny Barnett for the last 11 years of her life and was a favored member of the local community. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, going to yard sales in her little golf cart and visiting with the neighbors. Prior moving to Perrysburg, she lived in the Franklin Furnace area, and worked for many of the local business people as a housekeeper. She was well known for her diligence and reputation of a job well done. Hester was a woman who would do anything for anybody if she could. She was well respected and loved by her family and friends alike, she will be sadly missed by all. Hester leaves four living children, Patricia Ann Smith, Johnny Barnett (Brenda), Jerry Barnett (Dorothy) and Frankie Barnett (Dawn) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Harden step-children, Mary Pollard, Zonie Harden, Martha Rucker, Gladys, Barbara Brown, Ike Harden, Don Harden and Arthur Harden. She is preceded in death by the following children: Darrell "Butch" Huggins, Paul Harden, Raymond Harden and her sister Helen Perkins. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 11AM-1PM at the D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Graveside services will be conducted by the family following the Wednesday visitation at Junior Furnace Cemetery in Franklin Furnace.
