Gloria Gunnell

Gloria Jean Carmichael Gunnell, 71, of Portsmouth died Friday November 28, 2014 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born February 5, 1943 in Springfield, OH. to the late Lloyd and Vella Carmichael. She was a 1961 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and retired from Michellace Factory with 17 years service. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Sue Gunnell Bradley Nichols; four brothers, Edwin, Ronald, Robert and Jimmy Carmichael and a sister, Sue Carmichael. Gloria is survived by her boyfriend, Joe Lewis whom resided with her; one son, James (Shelly) Gunnell; one daughter, Brenda (Paul) Lamblin all of Portsmouth; 7 grandchildren, Rickie Bradley of Newark, Latosha (Ed) Christner of Akron, Justin Lamblin, Brianna Gunnell, Amanda and Emily Purcell and Brandon Gunnell all of Portsmouth; 2 sisters, Wynona (Cliff) Terry of Richmond Heights, MO. and Sharon (Chad) Cooper of Columbus; 3 brothers, Roger (Joy) Carmichael of Franklin Furnace, Dale (Cindy) Carmichael of Portsmouth and Harold (Charlene) Carmichael of Wheelersburg and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at SOMC Hospice Center, SOMC Hospital, Dr. Jitendra Patel & staff, Dr. Harry Driedger & staff, Dr. Reene Samuel & staff, The Wound Center, Stakers of Portsmouth, Genesis Staff and Lincare staff. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday December 1, 2014 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Robert Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park.
