Age 55 of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1961 in Oak Hill, OH, a son of the late Bill and Nancy Crisswell White. Gideon was a Founding Member of Life Point Church, was an employee of the City of Portsmouth in the Utility Department, and member of Laborers Local 1039. He loved hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Gideon is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Ford White; two daughters, Carla (Nathan) Whitt of Lucasville and Heather (Jonathan) Chandler of Rosemount; six grandchildren, Ashton Mingus, Chloe Mingus, Carson Whitt, Aiden Chandler, Noah Chandler, Parker Chandler, and soon-to-be Gideon Oakley Chandler who’s on the way. Four sisters, Rosie (Ted) Adkins of Jackson, Patty Quigley of Jackson, Joan (Bob) Burnheimer of Chillicothe, Tracy Pigg of Canton; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill White Jr., and infant brother and sister, Carl David White and Deborah Sue White.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 19, 2016 at Life Point Church, 1644 11th Street, Portsmouth with Pastor Darrell Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park.
