Ernest "Ernie" Messer, Jr.

Ernest "Ernie" Messer Jr., 83 of Minford passed away Friday December 11, 2020 at a Columbus hospital. He was born June 5, 1937 in Portsmouth a son of the late Ernest E. Messer Sr. and Myrtle (Elliott) Messer. He was a former Dispatcher for the Ohio State Patrol where he was mostly known for his service there at the Patrol. He was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School, he loved NASCAR, Football, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. Ernie is survived by three sons, Dana Messer and Andrea of Portsmouth, Scott Messer and Donna Jacksonville, FL, Shane Messer and Donya of Portsmouth; one daughter, Tamara Smith of Milan, IN; one brother Ken Messer of Wheelersburg; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Brenda Messer in 2001. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday at Memorial Burial Parks Mausoleum with Pastor Randy Schnitzius officiating.
