Age 89 of New Boston passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth He was born April 1, 1928 in New Boston to the late Harrell and Martha (Meenach) Henson Earl was a longtime employee of Williams Shoe Factory and was a retired member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #577 He was very involved in Unity Full Gospel Church and never missed a service, even when he did not feel well He enjoyed going to the Life Center and playing softball. He followed the Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes as well as his grandson Tim in all his sports through the years Earl was full of life and always joking.
He is survived by a daughter, Annasue Harr; two grandchildren, Tim (Staci) Harr of Lucasville and Darren Harr of New Boston; three very special great-grandchildren, Tori Harr, Eli Harr, and Olivia Harr In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elva (Hayes) Henson; brothers, George, Raymond, Martin, and Clarence Henson; and two sisters, Gladys Henson and Louise Davis. The family would like to thank special nephew, Darrell Yeley, SOMC Hospice especially Mary, Kim, and Julie; his caretakers, Bonnie, Betty, and great-granddaughter Tori In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to SOMC Hospice.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, at Unity Full Gospel Church in New Boston with Pastor Barry Clardy officiating Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg Friends may call Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. at D.W.
