Age 83 of Wheelersburg, passed away at SOMC on December 17, 2015 He was born on November 15, 1932 in Oak Hill to Daniel and Anna (Brown) Rader Douglas was an Army Veteran and enjoyed farming He worked at ASC copper mines in Arizona and retired as a foreman for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad He attended Mabert Road Baptist Church in New Boston and Rubyville Community Church in Rubyville.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Howard Rader; son, Doug Rader of MI; daughter, Rhonda Rader of Wheelersburg; three brothers, Jim and Dan Rader of Wheelersburg, Jack Rader; one sister, Margaret Myers of Columbus; two grandchildren, Tera and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Rader, two sisters, Dora and Doris Rader.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans officiating Military honors will be provided by American Legion James Dickey Post #23 Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace Friends may call on Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com
