Dotty Wentworth

Dotty R. Wentworth, 63, of Portsmouth died Sun. August 9, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born Aug. 27, 1945 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late David and Laura Johnson Nichols. She was a clerk at the former Hart's Dept. Store and attended High Praises Church of God. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Wentworth and Marilyn Perkins both of Portsmouth; two sisters, Linda Nichols Thomas and husband Robert of Mocksville, NC and Glenna Duncan of Portsmouth; a special nephew, Teddy Nichols; sister-in-law, Norma Nichols of Frienship; and a son-in-law, Samuel Perkins Jr. Three grandchildren, Samuel "Sammy" Perkins III, Ashley Perkins and Raymond "Little Man" Perkins. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Berl "Fred" Nichols, Norman "Ted" Nichols; 2 sisters, June Jewell and JoAnn McCoy; a sister-in-law, Wilma Nichols and 2 brothers-in law, Dean Thompson and Roger McCoy. Services will Wed., August 12, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Dean E. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Lucasville cemetery.
